What is the difference between consulting and CraftCode's Coaching & Guidance?

Traditional consulting often pushes preferred platforms or vendor solutions. CraftCode's Coaching & Guidance is technology-agnostic and independent — we work for you, not a vendor. Our goal is to coach your team to make better decisions independently, becoming less necessary over time rather than creating dependency.

When should I consider an architecture review?

Consider an architecture review when changes take longer than they should, when scaling exposes weaknesses in your foundation, or when you are about to make a major investment in modernization. Common signals include rising technical debt, performance issues under load, and difficulty onboarding new developers.

Do you only advise on Java and Spring environments?

No. While Java and Spring are areas of deep expertise, our advisory services are technology-agnostic. We assess and guide across architecture, front-end frameworks (Angular, React, Vue), back-end technologies (Java, Kotlin, Clojure, Scala), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud).

What does a typical Coaching & Guidance engagement look like?

Our engagements follow a five-step process: Discovery to understand your context, Deep Dive into technology, people, and processes, Synthesis to identify patterns and priorities, Recommendations with clear reasoning, and ongoing Partnership for follow-up support. Engagements range from focused architecture reviews to long-term advisory relationships.

Can you help us decide between rebuilding or refactoring our system?

Yes. This is one of the most common questions we help answer. We assess the maintainability, business risk, and modernization paths of your current system, then provide an honest, prioritized recommendation based on your specific context — not a one-size-fits-all preference.

Is CraftCode's advisory service available outside Belgium?

We are based in Edegem near Antwerp and primarily work with clients across Belgium. International engagements are possible on a case-by-case basis, particularly for organizations with Belgian operations or teams in our time zone.
